F.A.Q.

What can I expect in a typical session?
First and foremost I want everyone to have a great time! This isn’t your typical chain photo place where you are rushed in and out and told to look and when to smile. I want to capture you and your family naturally. During the 60-90 minute session and we may take a few posed shots, but mostly I’ll just follow you around as you play and interact. Don’t be nervous though; if you feel you need direction, I will direct as little or as much as you like. We can talk about your session beforehand either on the phone or via email. My main concern is your comfort…the more at ease and natural you are, the better your pictures will be!

Where will our session take place?
I prefer out door natural-light photography and prefer beach and park locations. Fortunately, there are a lot of both here in Florida that we can pick from. Also, I am open to new places and will talk about different location possibilities.

What should we wear?
For larger group photos, any color used should be repeated at least one time. Avoid having one subject wear a color that is not worn by another person. The viewer’s eye would be drawn to that person at the expense of the others. Individual’s personal clothing choices must be secondary to the goal of creating a color scheme that blends pleasingly. For children’s portraits, different guidelines apply. Children’s bodies, especially babies and toddlers can draw more attention. Brighter colors, playful patterns, and bare skin are more appropriate.

What if my child won’t cooperate?
Some children are shy, especially with strangers sticking a big camera in their face. I will talk to your kids prior the session, ask them questions, and get a feel for their personalities before I start clicking. Any tips/tricks that make your child laugh or feel at ease feel free to let me know. Most importantly I want your child to have fun and with a 5 year old of my own I know a few things to get kids to loosen up :)

Should we bring anything?
You are more than welcome to bring any props or comfort items you like!

How soon will I get to see my pictures?
Within 1 week after your session, I will upload your edited pictures to an online password protected gallery. The gallery will be up for 2 weeks, during which time you can forward the link to family and friends. After the 2 week period, your gallery can be reposted for a fee of $10 per week.

What can I expect from a newborn session?
Newborn sessions are very special and different from most other portrait sessions. The best time to photograph newborns is before they’re 2 weeks old. After 2 weeks they’re not as sleepy and easy to pose. We can conduct the session in or out of your home. Most importantly we want to make sure both baby and mom are comfortable. Expect these sessions to take anywhere from 2-3 hours as we’ll stop as often as necessary for feedings, changes, etc.
